Netanyahus face corruption claim

Latest: Corruption and Money Laundering.

Netanyahus face corruption claim.

Israeli police are investigating allegations of money laundering against Benjamin Netanyahu in the latest scandal threatening the Prime Minister’s grip on power.
The inquiry focuses on a “large sum of money” sent to the Netanyahu family from overseas. The police have released few other details, but a senior officer said they had enough evidence to justify making the case public.
The attorney-general is already investigating claims French fraudster Arnaud Mimran donated up to 1 million ($1.4m) to Mr Netanyahu. Mimran was sentenced to eight years’ jail last week for a carbon trading fraud. He told investigators he gave money to Mr Netanyahu in 2001 and 2009, although his story has changed several times.
