Enforcement Directorate to probe forest bribery and corruption case.
KOLKATA: A day after they were arrested by the anti-corruption branch officials, Enforcement Directorate will start a probe against Alankar Jha and Subhasis Chakraborty-the duo arrested on Saturday in a bribery case.
Jha, the additional principal conservator of forests was caught red-handed while he was offering bribe to Chakraborty-a DSP rank official of the ACB. They were remanded to police custody till September 29 by a magistrate court.
The anti-corruption branch, which was already pursuing a money-laundering case against Jha, had information that he has negotiated a deal with Chakraborty-the investigating officer in the case.
